Internship or study in Australia

Apply for an Australian study visa,
or a visa to do an internship in Australia

While there are numerous visa options available for this purpose, many people are unaware of them. This is unfortunate, as selecting the wrong visa can limit your opportunities. Choosing the right visa ensures you make the most of your options, allowing you the flexibility to return to Australia whenever you wish.

Visa options

Study in Australia

Whether you’re eager to pursue full-time studies or simply want to complete a course, a study visa is the perfect option. For children as young as six years old, there’s also the opportunity to apply for a visa to receive primary education in Australia.

To qualify for a student visa, you must be enrolled in a registered course or study program. This visa lets you stay in Australia for the duration of your studies, typically up to five years, depending on the length of your course. In addition to proof of enrollment at a registered institution, you’ll need to demonstrate your financial capacity and ensure you have the right insurance coverage.

A student visa also allows you to work up to 40 hours per fortnight while studying (with different conditions for those pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree).

Additionally, family members may be included in your visa application, provided they meet the necessary requirements.

Internship in Australia

Training visa

This visa is designed for individuals eager to enhance their skills through workplace-based training in their current occupation, area of study, or field of expertise. It’s also ideal for those looking to participate in a professional development training program.

To apply, you must have a sponsor in Australia. Both you, the occupation, and the sponsoring Australian organization will be assessed by Immigration Australia.

Applicants for this visa must be at least 18 years of age.

Temporary Activity visa

This visa offers the opportunity to participate in exciting activities, such as research projects, at the invitation of an Australian organization. It’s often granted for up to twelve months.

This visa category is not just for researchers; it also covers a variety of other purposes. For example, individuals invited to Australia for religious work may also be eligible to apply.

Working Holiday visa

Many people choose to apply for a Working Holiday visa. This offers an exciting opportunity to explore and work in Australia. After completing an internship or traveling, some return home only to realize they want to come back to Australia, perhaps to go backpacking through the country. Unfortunately, when the first Working Holiday visa expires, the chance to apply for a second year Working Holiday visa lapses.

This can be disappointing, but it’s completely avoidable, as there are other great visa options available. We’d be happy to guide you through the best options to help you return to Australia and continue your adventure!
